Music teachers organized Helena Music Teachers Association in 1965 to…

  • promote the study of music in the Helena, Montana, community;
  • strive for a cooperative spirit among all the music teachers;
  • create a spirit of cooperation and goodwill with area schools;
  • further music teachers' professional education

Student Responsibilities

  • The lesson period assigned each student becomes his personal and financial responsibility.
  • Progress results only from regular attendance and preparation. Regular practice is essential to success.
  • The instrument the student uses should be kept in good condition. Vocalists should take care to maintain the health of their voices.
  • Participation in musical activities of the studio and community is encouraged.

Lesson Attendance

  • Time set aside for a student is reserved for that student. It should be a nine-month commitment, paid in monthly installments in advance. No refund will be made for missed lessons except in cases of extended illness.
  • Teacher cancellations will be credited on the next statement.
  • Advance notice is necessary before termination of lessons.

Adaptation

Individual teachers adapt these guidelines to meet individual studio needs. Discuss any questions of preferences you might have with you teacher.
