About HMTA membership...

HMTA Membership
Helena Music Teachers Association membership is open to all active Helena area music teachers, and
to anyone who wants to support music education.
Three levels of membership:
- 1. Active Member. Active HMTA members
include officers and other members who attend meetings, serve on committees, and are active, qualified,
music teachers in the Helena area.
Active members may vote on association policy.
- 2. Associate Member. Anyone interested in supporting music education and the work
of HMTA may apply to become an associate member.
- 3. Emeritus. Honorary life membership may be awarded by the Executive Board for outstanding
service to HMTA.
Membership Dues. Membership is at a flat rate of $20.00 per calendar year.

Benefits of Membership
- Listing on the HMTA brochure is included with active membership. The brochure is available to potential
students at Helena area music stores, and is distributed to public school music teachers and other organizations. To be
included in the brochure, dues for the coming membership year must be paid by the 15th of June.
- Listing on the HMTA website at www.helenamta.com is included with membership. ew members will be immediately
listed on the website.
- Active members benefit from participation in monthly meetings (September through May) and
the associated programs of value to teachers.
- Members are encouraged to participate in HMTA activities, including recitals, Festival, Petting Zoo, etc.
- Membership is a valuable professional credential for a music teacher. Membership demonstrates desire
to take an active part in the musical education of our community.
